Supposedly James Frey . . .

has created a terrific Bright, Shiny Morning with his new novel, according to a New York Times reviewer.

Ya think Oprah will make it her new pick?

(Update: On the other hand, an Los Angeles Times reviewer hated the book, describing it as an unweildly tome with "shallow characters who populate . . . a poorly written, superficial novel set in Los Angeles." Is this a classic East Coast/West Coast division, in which stereotypical depictions of L.A. are embraced/rejected?)
